Platform
Terminal. Base Station. Skills.
Terminal reads sensors and drives valves in the field. Base Station is the on-site server that runs the whole stack. Skills are the vertical software that turns telemetry into dashboards, alerts, and control.
Architecture
Three parts. No cloud in the loop.
Field hardware, an on-site server, and application software. Every part runs on hardware you own.
Skills run on the Base Station. Terminal talks to the Base Station over Wi-Fi/LAN (Indi) or LoRaWAN (Agri).
Field I/O — two variants, one architecture
Terminal Indi and Terminal Agri are the same platform built for different radios and different sensors. Indi runs private Wi-Fi/LAN for instrumented plants. Agri runs LoRaWAN for open fields.
- Indi2× 4-20 mA inputs · H-bridge actuator output (valve/speed/relay) · 9-36 V power · Wi-Fi/LAN
- Agri3× soil-tension (Watermark) + soil temp · 1× latching-valve drive · LoRaWAN, US915 · ~5-yr battery (4×C)
- CommissioningCaptive-portal — connects like a printer, works like a PLC
- On-device computeTerminal Indi runs a container runtime — see Edge Compute below
One on-site server, ARM64
The Base Station is a single ARM64 server, one per site. It runs the entire stack — dashboards, alerting, historian, user accounts, audit log — with no cloud dependency.
- HardwareARM64 · one per site
- Price$1,000
- DependencyNone — runs fully on-site, air-gap capable
Vertical application plugins
Skills plug into the Base Station and turn raw telemetry into operator outcomes — dashboards, alerting, valve control. Licensed per Terminal, per month.
- CIP MonitoringSkid/vessel state, cleaning-cycle tracking — Falcon reference deployment
- Irrigation IntelligenceSoil tension to valve action, zone dashboards
- Custom SkillsDon't see your vertical? Commission one, or build your own on our SDK.

Terminal, wired directly to an RO membrane vessel. No rack, no PLC panel.

Base Station operator dashboard — live channel data, running on-site.
Connectivity
The right radio for the job.
We use the right radio for the job — LoRa for long-range, low-power fields, Wi-Fi/LAN for instrumented plants. Modulink was never married to one radio, and isn’t now.
- Private on-site network — no cloud, no SIM cards
- Fits instrumented plants: RO skids, pump houses, process lines
- 5 km open-air · 1 km indoor range
- ~5-year battery life on 4× C-cells — fits open fields with no power run
On the Base Station
Runs on-site. Full stop.
Dashboards
Live device and process views — updated over WebSocket, no page refresh.
Alerting
Threshold and state-based alerts, tied to your Skill’s logic.
Historian
Local time-series storage of every reading, on the Base Station.
User accounts
Role-based access control (RBAC) for operators, admins, and viewers.
Audit log
Every configuration change and control action, recorded.
Device provisioning
Zero-touch — a Terminal joins the network without manual setup on-site.
Data Egress
Open egress.
Your data, your integrations.
- MQTTReal-time event streaming, on-site broker
- REST APIQuery devices, telemetry, and Skill state
- Prometheus metricsScrape endpoint for your own monitoring stack
- Modbus TCPBase Station integration to SCADA/PLC — not a Terminal hardware capability
Security
What’s actually true,
stated plainly.
- AES-128 encryption on the LoRa link
- TLS on the web UI
- JWT-based auth · role-based access control · audit log
- Self-hosted, single-tenant, air-gap capable
- No telemetry, no phone-home — nothing leaves your site unless you send it
Licensing
Licenses degrade. They don’t disable.
If a license lapses, Skills go read-only. The platform never bricks.
The core platform ships free with hardware — you pay for hardware, Skills, and services. See pricing.
Edge Compute
Compute at the sensor.
Terminal Indi can run containerized Skill workloads on-device — edge compute at the sensor. This is a platform capability, not a shipped Skill. We’re recruiting design partners for the first edge Skills.
