Russ encountered the problem from the engineering side: industrial operations running critical processes on sensors that nobody was actually monitoring. The data existed — pressure transducers, flow meters, soil tension sensors. The infrastructure to act on it didn't. Not because the technology wasn't there, but because every solution on the market required a contractor, a six-figure quote, and eight months of construction.
He was built to solve it differently. As an embedded systems engineer in aerospace R&D, Russ designs RF communications and real-time data systems for operational environments that can't afford failure. B.S. in Computer Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. M.S. in Electrical Engineering (Communication Systems) at UC San Diego, with focus on RF systems, embedded design, and applied AI/ML.
He built the first Modulink Terminal in 2024 — not a concept board, but a field-deployable device that shipped into a pilot. Modulink is what happens when aerospace-grade RF engineering meets an industrial problem that didn't need new science. It needed someone to actually build it.

Our pilot deployment is with Falcon Water Tech — an RO membrane services company with 90+ years of combined water treatment expertise. Their team operates across the industries we're building for. They chose to pilot with us because the technology addressed a problem their operators deal with daily — and because we showed up with working hardware, not a slide deck.
